I thought it was good that I could reprogram that.

A quality product like all Panasonic phones. Eastern setting. Bought for my mother-in-law who has tech issues. So I liked the fact that I could flash the phone with Auto Boost enabled and set a value for Tone. The phone works better than we could have imagined. Allows the user to communicate with family members again as hearing loss is not only a physical disability but also an emotional one. Worth the price. Finally, I was happy to buy a 50dB model. Set it to 40dB automatically, but the phone…

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Something different

I bought this for my elderly mother who is very hard of hearing. She could not make calls on the Clarity phone, which is intended for the hearing impaired. With this phone, I was able to adjust the tone and volume so that she could use it with almost no problems. She can't dial a regular phone and I programmed the big buttons on the base and now she can dial 3 numbers herself. The hands-free function works very well and is loud and clear. I managed to program the phone to answer the call when…

Terrible sound quality

I bought it for my father in law. Today I tested it. I didn't use the person on the other side of the line to test for continuity, but used a radio transcript of the speech at normal volume. No matter how I tried to adjust the volume and tone, both in the speaker and headset, the sound quality was terrible. Not only my father and the law, but also me and my wife (both with normal hearing) could not understand it. For comparison I used a mobile phone as well as a regular cordless phone from…

Terrible product: Batteries

I bought this for my 97 year old mother because it was listed as 'one of the best' for seniors with big buttons etc what it has. BUT the features are terrible. To answer a call, you can't just pick up the phone and say hello. You need to find and press the green talk button. Then, to hang up, you need to find and press the red off button. My mother can hardly read these two buttons without a magnifying glass. So she has to find the M-Glass, then pick up the phone and so on. She's learned to…

A little background on our situation. My husband was born with a 90% irreversible hearing loss in his right ear. All his life he felt good just listening to his left ear. However, a few months ago he suddenly lost hearing in his left ear. He was treated immediately but has still not regained his hearing. In fact, it made him completely deaf. He's since received Cros hearing aids, which provide comfortable hearing in most everyday face-to-face situations, and these phones make a world of…
