Stainless Steel for High Humidity Environments

Summary: We live in a high humidity environment so I prefer stainless steel hardware and fasteners, even for interior projects. Pros: Good fit and finish; stainless steel material; sharp teeth; Supplied in a reusable/sealable container. Disadvantages: none. Verdict: $35 for 100, $0.35 each, which is better than similar deals (most deals are for 25 packs at $15), so rate this 5 stars.

A hole must be drilled for nuts, and it is desirable to also countersink the larger flange of the nut. Softwood can warp enough to not need it, but hardwood certainly needs sinking for a clean look. The teeth prevent the nut…
