Steelex D1024 3 Forstner Drill Bit Review

Forstner bits are made for slowly making really nice finished holes, not for ripping wood. They are designed to spin at a few hundred RPM, not thousands, and should not be forced - other reviews complain that the bit will "burn out" or dull quickly, use the bit incorrectly. You are considering this particular Forstner bit because you need to cut a 1-1/16" hole. However, to your dismay, you found that absolutely NO Forstner, Shovel, Spade, and Hole Saw kits come with a 1.0625" (or 27mm) bit! Well, even if that's far from being a 4-star Forstner bit. I gave it 4 stars and will explain why I bought this drill to install the front Lee vise. The vise required a 2 5/16 diameter and 9/16 deep hole. This is a really weird hole, and the fact that it's just a recessed hole and not a through hole makes it even more of a challenge.
