Not functional! Low quality! And this shxt can't even be returned

After some tests the thing doesn't work. It shows some random readings even when I'm pointing at my desk. -------- Just receiving this I can hear something inside falling apart. It makes noise when I shake it. So I opened it up and found a tiny tin ball rolling around (see photo). Don't check the quality at all before shipping? I'm assuming that tin ball is bad solder falling off the board. And of course the soldering on the board is just plain bad. The receiver (I think) even has a needle…

Pros
  • ✔Optical Speedometer: Auto-Zero, remembers the last, min and max readings
Cons
  • There are doubts

It fell apart before I could put the batteries in.

A disappointing speedometer. I took it out of the box and the reading window fell out. I pointed to a roll of tape I had on my bench and he said it was spinning at 7100 rpm. I pointed out other non-spinning things and was given a wide range of rpm. I pointed it at my CNC machine spindle which already has a piece of reflective tape on it and I couldn't get a consistent RPM reading. The laser target beam is only about 1/3. It looks like a crescent. I send it back and receive "AGPtek® Professional

Pros
  • ✔Class II high-intensity laser measures from 2.5 to 99,999 RPM
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Ideal for CNC tapping with Tapmatic head

I have had very good experiences with this tachometer. It seems very accurate, of course with any HAND tach you have to be careful to keep your hand VERY steady, especially at higher speeds. If your hand moves even slightly, the readings will be severely distorted. I use this to get accurate RPM readings on my milling machine so I can sync the cutting head to the spindle. Since the machine uses a variable speed belt it's not possible to get the machine to produce exact spindle revolutions, but…

Pros
  • ✔Very large 5-digit LCD display, high accuracy +/- 0.05%
Cons
  • Slightly torn
