Rokinon is Samyang? Great price for a quality landscape lens

Overall this is a well made and good value lens. For the price the overall quality is very good. The metal mount works well with my Canons, and the manual aperture wheel has a nice "click". The focus ring is smooth, although I leave it at infinity most of the time. Pros: price, sense of quality, image quality Cons: manual focus and aperture. Recommended for aps-c cameras (although some publications mention it for full frame cameras). I haven't owned it in a long time, so I'll update if anything

Pros
  • There is something special about this lens
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, everything is fine

Great lens, build quality is solid, everything works as it should, the aperture ring snaps in very well and the focus ring is smooth from start to finish. I bought it to capture stars with both full frame and crop frame Canon cameras and both come out very good and sharp. You have to keep in mind that this is a fully manual lens, just like in the days of cinema, and if you don't like to think and do things, you don't have to buy it, but you will miss out on a lot of fun lenses. It will cost you

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Sad hardware

I could never focus properly

I was dying to try this lens but ended up being disappointed. I haven't found a combination of settings to sharpen the image. I started with old fashioned film cameras many years ago, so I understand manual focus and settings. Unfortunately I couldn't get this lens to focus near or at infinity or anywhere in between. An internet search revealed that this lens appears to have a known focus ring adjustment issue, although I'm not sure if it's an earlier or later version. In any case, this…

Amazing quality lens; I always have it with me

This lens is fantastic. I've had it for almost 2 years now so I've had plenty of time to use it. I'm not a professional but I'm an amateur enthusiast. I use a Canon 70D with five other lenses from Canon, Sigma and Tamron. This was my first manual lens and definitely took some getting used to. Once I started mastering it, I took amazing pictures with it. The image quality is simply fantastic for a lens in this price range. I think I've found the best spot for this lens in the f/8 to f/11 range…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • I have almost everything

Good for creative shots

I wanted a fisheye lens for my lens collection. I already have two Sigma lenses and love them for the quality and lower price compared to Canon lenses. I wanted to get a Sigma fisheye lens but couldn't bring myself to pay up to $700 for a lens that I probably didn't want to use very often. That's why I bought this lens and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. One of the biggest doubts I had when purchasing this lens was that it only had manual focus. But now after using it, it's not a problem…

  • Standard

  • Doubtful

Makes me smile every time I use it!

I just ordered this lens after much thought about buying a fisheye lens under $1400 and I have NO regrets. And so, to put it bluntly, you can get answers to a million questions just by looking at the box, so I've included photos of each side of the box.1. Made in Korea2.
