Benefits of understanding the Ardor for users

Ardor includes every feature that the Nxt blockchain supports, but changes the architecture of how new blockchains are implemented. Separates security from functionality by creating multiple chains. The Ardor main chain is a weak bare bone blockchain built for speed and security.

When you want to implement a new project in Ardor, you create something called a children's chain. The sub chain carries all the functionality and customizability supported in Nxt. However, it is still tied to the main chain and derives its security and decentralization from using the main chain for verification.
This new structure allows children's chains and features to be implemented in minutes or hours. Since the blockchain infrastructure is already available with the Ardor main chain, child chains can quickly adopt specific use cases. These child chains continue to receive all the speed, security and usability upgrades of the main chain as they are all integrated into a single platform.

Ardor solves the blockchain bloating problem using a transaction pruning system. In the future, not every node will need to keep an exact copy of their transaction history, just the relevant recent transactions that brought the blockchain to this point. Ardor will also support archive nodes that will run to keep full transaction histories as needed.
To solve the local token issue, Ardor uses a packager system, nodes, that accept fees paid in the child chain token on the network. These packers then pay Ardor main chain forging companies in the ARDR and mainly act as conversion clearinghouses for transaction fees. This means that the end user can initiate a transaction on a sub token and pay transaction fees on the sub token.
Theoretically, users might be unaware of Ardor's presence at all. This commitment to the illegitimate work of infrastructure development is what makes it difficult for Ardor to draw attention to the buzz and pressure. However, if it gains traction, Ardor could be the basis for endless new blockchain applications.

Pros
  • The transaction fees for the entire sub-chain will use the token specific to that sub-chain. Users of a children's chain will not need to have any ARDR to participate.
  • Users of any sub-chain can hold and trade assets found in Ardor with all other sub-chains on the platform.
  • After launch, the installation will be done manually and the creation of a children's chain will be simplified later down the road after the Ardor launches. Still, the process will be much simpler than setting up your own blockchain.
Cons
  • There are some customization problems.
