Review on πŸ–₯️ Dell S2417DG Monitor: Enhanced 24 Inch Display with 60Hz Response Rate by Craig Limes

Great monitor if you can find it on sale

Dell Gaming S2417DG YNY1D 24 Inch LED Backlit Monitor with G-SYNC Out of the box, this monitor needs a little tweaking in the built-in settings and then the Nvidia Control Panel to really enjoy it. After that, the colors were really bright and vibrant for me (I personally left Digital Vibrance at 50). The monitor itself is very nicely designed and in my opinion looks a million times better than what is currently available for 144hz monitors and that is one of the main reasons I bought it. I like the small and smooth sides that give it an almost big look. Very easy to assemble and the adjustable slider is a nice bonus. G-sync is very good and prevents everything from snapping and such. As far as I can tell it doesn't affect input at all when playing games like Overwatch and CSGO. However, if you're using an Nvidia GPU in your setup, you'll need to enable V-Sync -On with G-Sync -On as well as in the Nvidia Control Panel to actually use it. And don't forget to disable V-Sync when you're in the game's display or graphics settings. Now for the bad. Unfortunately the color bar is on this one. bearable. I'm not sure how lucky I am with this monitor as I've seen reviews from other people with great monitors. But for the rest of us, it's either dead pixels, or horrible backlight bleeding, or/or color streaks. Color bands become more visible on very dark images/map areas. In games like the Bioshock or Deadspace series, which use a lot of dark tones, it becomes incredibly noticeable but, as I said, "bearable". I've also played Raise of the Tomb Raider on maxed settings and it looks amazing and I honestly can't even tell if there are color bars. So take it how you want. At this point, all 144Hz TN monitors seem to suffer from a quality control issue. Unfortunately, this monitor doesn't sit with the rest. So if you really need a 144Hz monitor right now, it's important to remember that you're essentially playing whether you'll win a good lottery win or not, and you're playing the Back to the Game Sender” before until you get a good one. But for the price of $389.99 and the fact that it has G-Sync, I'm very happy with my purchase. TL; DR: An excellent 144Hz G-sync monitor with a beautiful design that beats the prices of many in its range. Check for quality control issues before purchasing.
