Review on UPERFECT Automatic Touchscreen: 15.6" Ultrawide Frameless Portable Screen with 3840X2160 Resolution by Jerome Dasilva

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good all-round monitor for PC, Mac, iPad and Playstation 5.

I find this to be a good general purpose monitor for many uses. Keep in mind that 15 inches is pretty small for a 4k monitor, so you may need to zoom it in to read text. The display is sharp and clear, with good brightness. Initially the color seemed a bit off from my laptop but some tweaking in the OSD seems to have fixed that. If you just need a second portable monitor for your laptop and want to save some money, they also make a 1080p version. There are also non-touchscreen versions that cost less if you don't need a touchscreen. The monitor comes with 2 USB-C cables, a USB A to C cable and a full size mini HDMI to HDMI cable. Out of the box, this connects you to most things. The only thing missing is a micro->mini HDMI cable which would be very handy for connecting to cameras and Raspberry Pi 4. Documentation is a bit weak, they show many different ways to connect different devices but no explanation. As for the OSD buttons, I'm still not sure what the MAC or FPS button does. A few details would be nice. The only real issue I had was the included power adapter not working properly. If you hit it, the power supply may fail, and sometimes you will hear a small popping sound. I'm expecting some kind of weak connection inside so I'll ask for a replacement. I've used it with PC and Mac laptops, two different desktops, and a couple of DSLR cameras, all of which have worked well. Video over USB-C only works if the port supports Thunderbolt 3. It worked with my iPad, Dell and Mac laptops. It didn't work with either my desktop motherboard's USB-C ports or my NVIDIA 2080's USB-C port, probably because they don't have a flash. These ports support USB-C video but not Thunderbolt. With a mini HDMI cable I was able to use it normally with these desktops and the PlayStation 5. Touch screen support works well with Windows 10, it kind of works with a Mac laptop but sometimes behaves like you are touching the laptop's monitor. instead (this is a Mac issue). The touchscreen doesn't seem to work with the iPad. The only strange thing is the power supply. They say you can't power it from a single USB-C port, and the monitor goes into sleep mode when you try to do so. The only thing is that many USB-C ports can deliver quite a bit of power, so you can only connect the monitor to a single USB-C cable. Only the monitor doesn't seem to understand that automatically. So it goes into low brightness mode and you have to increase the brightness manually.
