You could say it works, but it has an incredibly weak signal and short range, which is fun. no longer works (after 8 months of use), but the fact is that this AC1200 works and has much better stability compared to the ASUS RP-53. It was easy to set up and worked great the first time. BUT! Signal level is ridiculous. I placed it outside my bedroom less than 6 meters from my computer and the only thing separating the AC1200 from my computer is a wooden door and the signal strength is 60%. The 5.0

Overall a good product but loses connection to the hotspot.

Overall a good product but it drops the connection to the access point and requires a reboot. Sometimes the connection speed also drops and a reboot is required. The signal strength is so-so. At 5 GHz I had a stronger signal than at 2.4. The web interface is unstable. The web server dropped my sessions several times when I was looking for hotspots in the area.

Pros
  • Support for IPv6 networks
Cons
  • Contact seller

Ideal for Gigabit Ethernet networks

So I recently wired my single story ranch home to Gigabit Ethernet - all bedrooms, home office, HT room, dining room. WiFi router, TV, multiple PCs, PS4, streaming device and FREENAS server connected to it. Basically, every device is connected to an Ethernet port. All of these devices can communicate with each other via a centrally located hub/switch. So my personal home network. A wireless router is, of course, a gateway to the Internet. I didn't overlook the half dozen tablets and phones…

Inexpensive and Fast Access Point

I bought this access point out of faith as there were no Revain reviews about it at the time gave . I did this mainly because the range of features it offers suited my specific needs. Features I wanted include dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz networking and a bit of future-proofing with 802.11ac support. For the price I have not seen a comparable device. I'm using it to extend my Verizon FiOS MoCA network via a coax line and MoCA adapter in the second bedroom, which is too far from the router in my…

Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

Versatile but not the best AP

You need versatility. Unfortunately, my experience using it as a hotspot has been less than great. While I didn't have to restart it frequently, as some other reviews have explained, there are times when it loses and reconnects several times a second, requiring Wi-Fi on connected devices to be cycled off and back on to get it to reconnect repair. This behavior seems to be common with iPhone 6 and later (11ac compatible) and somewhat common with the Galaxy S5 (also 11ac compatible). The range is
