Ideal for multiple devices

We all want to connect a variety of devices to the car and if you still use Gamin GPS (unfortunately they are being phased out for general use but they are so good and reliable they last a long time will last for many more years!) it will give you a very convenient additional connection. You should ALWAYS unplug these devices when leaving your vehicle as everyone says they can slowly drain your battery. This is a good model for this purpose, you can't go wrong with buying it.

Pros
  • Few competitors

  • Unthinking

Worked great for the first few months then the problems started

This charging cable worked fine initially. The cable charged my GPS, and then I connected the cell phone cable at the top. After a few months I noticed that my phone was charging slowly. And then I started having problems with GPS. The screen is dark but won't turn off and I'm getting a low battery message. When I first unplugged it, it has a separate GPS cable as you can see in the photos. I've read similar reviews, this is a common problem.

  • Great price

  • Security

No Durability-Weak GPS Adapter Connector

This is a great concept and space saving but the quality of the mini GPS adapter leaves something to be desired. We had to turn off the GPS while the van was in the store. I removed the connector (correct clip etc.) and noticed that the mini connector for the actual GPS is already detaching from the connector block. It was the first time we turned off the device! The cigarette plug is great, it starts the GPS and charges the phone, saving space and time. But GPS was needed, and for that, thisโ€ฆ

basically treat it like disposable

These things are cheap Chinese junk and I fucking want to get my hands on something that was built for more than three months. This is the 5th I've had and the same thing happens every time: the metal pin that plugs into the socket on the back of the GPS detaches and falls out of the end of the power cord. I've come to the conclusion that it's either a major design issue or a chronic manufacturing flaw, and when I order them I order three at a time and keep a spare in the glove compartmentโ€ฆ

A frustrating, unreliable piece of junk. Waste of money

The charger only worked well for about a month, the GPS worked perfectly and I was able to connect my iPhone to one of the charging ports while the device flagged my GPS with none of the supported issues flagged by other users became. Initially I was very happy with this item despite having to spend at least 8 additional feet of unnecessary cable. Despite good care and storage in a suitable case, within a few days the cable at the junction that connects to the GPS began to snap and power fromโ€ฆ

Nice design, works great with Nuvi.

This charger strikes a good balance of design considerations when you just need power for your Garmin GPS and two USB devices. The "Traffic" feature on Garmin GPS navigators is not supported because the power cable does not contain the original cable's traffic "antenna". If you want to use the traffic feature, you'll need to purchase a Garmin inverter, which sells for around $25 on the site. This (Garmin) design is an additional extension of the original factory cable with two USB ports on theโ€ฆ

Powered by Garmin DriveTrack GET GPS and TRAFFIC DATA!

Works with my Garmin DriveTrack, including getting traffic data! My problem is that I need to power two or three USB devices in the car and my Garmin GPS can't use the cigarette lighter plug just for myself. However, receiving Garmin traffic data appears to require the use of the car cigarette lighter adapter (TA-10 or TA-20) as it "includes a traffic antenna". After using one of those monstrous power strips for a while, it was time to find a small, compact solution that wouldn't get in the way

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires power outlet

Cheap junk, killed my Garmin.

Scrap, at first it seemed to work fine, then after about an hour of driving my Garmin turned off, looked down and the car charger went off, and then there was a distinct smell of burnt electronics. Stopped and found the fuse on the charger had blown, no problem, I keep spares, put in a new one, turned the charger back on but the Garmin is still dead. Check out the fork at Garmin and it's super hot, that cheap crap fried my $200 Drivemart 65 and it's honestly my fault for not spending a fewโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Chargers and Cables
Cons
  • High Price

. Even allows me to scan traffic with my Garmin truck, not sure if it's accurate yet. The cable is too long for my liking and it's very tight in the car charger port, you almost have to force it in but don't force it back, so it should be ok! The extra USB port is very handy, I can charge my phone and GPS wirelessly. I like it, I would recommend the product to a friend!

Pros
  • . Electronics
Cons
  • . No instructions.

Works well at half price

I travel with Garmin GPS along with window mount and charger. After plugging it into my car's cigarette lighter and driving across the Nevada desert to Utah, Garmin gave me an error message saying I'm using a non-charcoal USB cable and can't charge. I found this very dangerous and shameful for Garmin for forcing this issue. I was able to continue using GPS on my phone and made it as far as Utah, but immediately ordered this non-Garmin (it was told it was Garmin compatible) which was half theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GPS, finder and accessories
