CDU, SPF & SSPF Switch Repair Kit - Wayne 56395 Review

Exact replacement for a rigid pump $200+ new. My pump just wouldn't stop one day, but a light tap on the broomstick stopped it. It is located on top of the pump for easy replacement. The old switch has a flake number. Just type it into the Revain search bar and it popped up right away. The pump works perfectly, all spring and summer there were no problems.

My 2001 vintage Wayne CDU800 was repaired in minutes. Came with a gasket that I lightly coated with silicone faucet grease I had on hand. A new pump costs more than $150 or so, the pump still rarely works. Switch tested, bad - pump tested separately with wiring for makeshift wires, good. The pump is also pressure washed and backwashed to clean and remove deposits.

I've been using these for about 10 years. Just changed the switch on my current Wayne pump for the second time. Works like new. The first replacement took about 3 years or about 6 times longer than the factory switch (in my experience). Instructions are poor but installation is fairly easy, just be careful where the wires connect when removing the old switch. Don't forget to replace the o-rings, they wear out over time and water can flood the switch compartment.

I have 2 Wayne pumps, both 3 years old. These switches last about 1 1/2 years. Not the 1,000,000 cycles Wayne suggests in his literature. Closer to 65,000 cycles based on my limited experience with 6 switches (4 failed). Little Giant's genius designers claim that the switch in their signature version of this pump is different (better) than this one.
