You won't find anything better for $11.

I bought this as a 'cheap' option to see if it could cut round holes for some of my speaker projects. When that didn't work, I realized I only lost $11 and moved on. Since the holes are different sizes I wanted to start with something adjustable rather than buying 4 different hole saws. 1) It's actually a pretty solid piece of metal with a drill bit and a replaceable carbide tip. A small Allen key is used for everything and is included in the kit. 2) The mount is adjustable up to 4 inches and accurately marked. I started with a 3/4" MDF lined with African Mahogany. I was going to use a drill press BUT my table didn't open wide enough for a 1/2" drill bit. I took my industrial punch (turned off the punch) and made all these holes by hand. The carbide tip sank slightly and didn't tear the plywood at all. I'd like a new or sharpened tip to replicate this type of work. I measured the outside first as it wouldn't go through, reduced the hole size and cuts through 3/4 easily " thick MDF. For the second set of speakers I was dealing with very old (hard) oak. I recut the outer hole to 1/4". This was significantly more difficult and a double drill would have been better. However, it worked and left behind a very clean cut, that's all I was interested in. 2nd hole and just over 1/4" sawed off. Maybe 1/2"? It was too hard to cut the oak deeper. It didn't matter at the time. I took a jigsaw and finished the hole along the line as it should, should be covered by the speaker. Just a perfect outer hole made a difference to the ad Full experience for $11 good shape after oak but I would save so as not to get stuck in the middle of a project waiting for new advice.
