Not as "rapidly released " as he claims.
I don't like that I don't have a little lever that opens the pliers like a regular vise does. I have a specific goal for them: to remove nails or broken screws that are driven into antique furniture that I am restoring. I have to pull them really tight to hold them. When this is done it is sometimes very difficult to open the pliers. I need a tool to open them. So they're probably fine for normal work, but be aware that if you overtighten them, you'll have trouble opening them.
