I don't wear it for warmth, I wear it to keep my silicone cap covered when I swim. I have fine, curly, bleached hair that is fairly damaged and doesn't need the chlorine from the pool water. So there is no risk of my cap popping open. This helps ensure the silicone lid fits snugly enough that it doesn't move around much while swimming. I have unilateral temporomandibular misalignment and the strap is positioned so it doesn't irritate, which is great. + for design. It's definitely warmer than wearing a regular swim cap, but worth protecting my hair. It's not thick enough to stretch. Also, it's not waterproof, just FYI. Wetsuits don't work like that! Don't expect it to be waterproof. I wear a silicone cap underneath to provide that benefit (more or less waterproof anyway).
