It took a while but he ended up liking the bag!

At first I struggled to get my eclectus to eat it. I bought this food on the advice of my vet. In addition, My Eclectus gets fresh organic fruit, vegetables, bean mix and a small amount of nuts every day. Fruits, mixtures of legumes and vegetables form the basis of his diet. He also had a tendency to only eat sunflower seeds and other seeds, which is not good for an Eclectus if they overeat. seed. Especially not the seeds. When we took him to the vet, my vet found he was slightly underweight and had a slightly elevated liver function test. He asked if I could give him the pellets. I gave him natural zupreem granules but he wouldn't eat them. So what I did to get him to eat this: First week:. I cut up the granules and mixed them with blackberry juice which I mixed with his favorite fruit. His favorite fruits are blueberries, pomegranates and blackberries. For example, I would crush all of the granules with blackberry juice so that it absorbs the juice and turns into a puree. Also, leave a few granules their normal size, but let them soak up the juice. Then I added the rest of the blackberries. At first he just ate as many parts of the blackberry as he could choose. (I still gave him seeds) Week 2: I cut the pellets in half (because he won't bite the nuts or the pellets are too hard). But I stopped grinding the granules. He was picky so I did the same (I fed a few to my dogs too and when he saw them eating it and heard the crunch he tried to pick up his pellets and then dropped them) (I did one myself ate a few, I have to say they are delicious and taste like sunflower seeds without the salt) Week 3: I've just started soaking the granules in their blackberry juice. (Blackberry juice only). He continued to eat sunflowers and sunflower seeds but less (I had to take his seeds slowly because he actually got cranky when I didn't give them to him) Week Four: Keep up the good work. as in the third week, but less blackberry juice. (A few were actually dropping on the seeds) Week 5: At this point I had only cut some of the Harrison granules and left some of the regular size. Then, late in the evening, I put out a bowl of frozen Harrison's so they were ready to eat in the morning. Week 6: Suddenly early in the morning I heard him chewing pellets. I couldn't believe it! From the sixth week he no longer eats seeds. By the sixth week he was ready for a new bag! Keep the pouch frozen in the freezer and it will last for six weeks. But if you just put them in the fridge, this large bag will only last 10 days. Note: My vet says he is much healthier and is a very good weight. But I found that he gets a bit hyperactive and aggressive. My vet said it might be Spirulina in the Harrisons because that's how some Eclectus behave when they eat Spirulina. So he made me give him less Harrison's and add some Zupreem Pellets or RoudyBush. He said if he takes RoudyBush I can give him RoudyBush instead if I want, but he still thinks Harrison is much healthier. after eating from Harrison. When I first took him, he didn't want to move much or climb on his toys in his jungle gym. Now? My god, he's climbing up like a little monkey! I will continue to buy Harrisons, I am very happy with him and so is he!
