Review on πŸ”Œ 16AWG Horn Wiring Harness Kits for Car and Truck Grille Mount Blast Tone Horns by Omar Austin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High quality components, very good assembly: excellent suspension at a bargain price.

I used this harness to tie a pair of Hella trumpet horns to replace one of the pathetic Roadrunner pancake horns on my 2018 Forester. The harness was more than adequate length; In fact, I left a few extra loops from the rolled up support legs. All wires are shielded with flexible tubing and all splices and connections are professionally sealed, as are the fuse and relay holders. The leads are 16 gauge stranded wire which is a lot heavier than the OEM wire Subaru uses which appears to be 22 gauge. Since Subaru's stock pancake horns only draw 3.5 amps each, this wire is plenty. However, each of the Hella tubes draws 6 amps, so I didn't want to risk overloading the line with about 3.5 times the amps. The wiring harness includes a detailed wiring diagram, making it nearly impossible to mess up the wiring. The only mod I had to do was replace the connector on the negative wire of the switch leg with a flat ring connector. Everything else was completely plug and play. I doubt anyone would buy the components (40A relay, built in fuse holder and fuse, 16 AWP wire, flex hoses) let alone assemble them into a weatherproof wiring harness for the ridiculously low price of this unit. . It was the best investment I have ever made in my horn upgrade project and my horns sound loud and proud with enough power for their amperage. You don't have to risk overloading your Forester's standard wiring by adding horns without wiring upgrades. Instead, get it right with this pendant.
