I first bought two when I discovered our 2 year old girl could open doors with child safety handle covers and kept locking herself in rooms. We didn't have a key to any of the interior doors and although they could be opened with a screwdriver it could take 30 minutes. When it arrived I was a little worried about how well it would work because it doesn't use a key. All my doubts about it were dispelled when I was able to install it in less than 10 minutes while three kids ran around. I also found this to be a better way than child proof doorknobs to keep kids out. I had a small problem, but it was easily fixed. The door hanger that came with the handle prevented the door from closing. I just put the old one back in and it works like a charm. I've read that I could try sanding the edges of the new board, but I have yet to try as the end works, I'll just leave it there.
