This knob is unusable since it is impossible to install. We unfortunately purchased 2 of the dummy knobs along with a number of passage and privacy sets. Yes, you can remove the knob and rosette from the mounting plate, but once you screw the mounting plate to the door, you cannot re-secure the the knob to the mounting plate because the clip goes behind the mounting plate that is now between the plate and door. These are made to screw into a wood door and since the screws are barely accessible to reach with a screwdriver at an angle, you'll just strip the screw trying to screw into a hard surface, even with a pilot hole. Is this a joke? We unpackaged these knobs with the rest of the hardware so I no longer have the packaging and I'm unable to return. DO NOT BUY THESE!
