The purpose of a computer lock is to prevent sticky fingers from escaping your laptop (and with a nearly finished coursework inside). This device works fine. It would take a loud bang to separate the computer from the heavy wooden table when they are held together with this lock. At first I wondered why it is designed in such a way that the key can only be removed when the lock is locked. It seemed awkward (you have to pull out the key to lock the computer), but then I remembered the damaging potential of an unlocked padlock thrown in the school locker room. Now I think it's a good idea to require a key to lock, which should be applied to more locks used in schools.
