Review on πŸ”Œ TP-Link USB 3.0 to Ethernet Adapter: Portable 3-port USB Hub with Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet - Supports Win 7/8/8.1/10, Mac OS X, Linux, Chrome OS by Brad Collins

Good for Laptop/Chromebook Server, Slightly Warm, Small and Portable

I am currently using this with my C720 Chromebook which I use as a Debian server and before that I only bought a USB 3.0 network adapter but it was really hacky and dumb (3rd pic) so I have this one Bought the Hub and it's definitely better than anything I've had before. I would say this adapter/hub is great for turning old Chromebooks or just any Chromebook/Laptop that doesn't have an Ethernet port or almost no USB ports into a Linux server for file sharing or even a Minecraft server want to operate with papermc! As I won't be using it for travel I can't give an opinion on whether it's suitable for that but from the looks of it it would work great as a two in one travel hub. It should be noted that it does get a bit warm, around 38-45 degrees Celsius, but that's about it. For Linux users, the adapter name is enx plus the adapter's MAC address without any separators.

Pros
  • Does USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet allow you to flip your laptop? S USB port to RJ45 Ethernet port for stable network connection.
Cons
  • Security
