This collar was instrumental in getting my dog to stop trying to chase squirrels on walks. It allows me to give the dog enough of a gentle signal to keep him focused on walking instead of chasing. With a regular style collar it was hard to correct before things escalated into a pulling match which wasn't good for his neck or both of our safety. The collar is adjustable so that you can set it such that it is loose enough to be comfortable, gets snug enough if the dog pulls. I like to set it so it's not so tight that it will choke. When fitted properly, the dog also can't wriggle out of it. My dog also seems to prefer the feel of this collar - I'm not sure he notices the silky smoothness of it that I like, but it is lighter than the regular collar we were using and he seems to enjoy that. This is a very well made, sturdy collar with no plastic parts.
