Very disappointed, the specs should have made it an epic winner. The software makes it an error.

I had high hopes that this unit could replace my PA-200 product. The experience out of the box wasn't too bad and it was relatively easy to connect. Then, slowly and steadily, it began to slide into a useless pit of darkness. If you're using a Mac, iOS or anything other than a PC/Windows browser, you'll need to search the forums for information. Pop-ups, help, messages, etc. are illegible. I can't even understand why software developers don't know how to resize a window in Java, but it's actually possible these days (it's nice trying to read a few hundred characters in a dialog box that's a few tens of pixels tall) . . Of course, there are many "upgrade" licenses that you need to purchase in order to run the main functions. What was the point of paying upfront for next-gen licenses when I still had to purchase additional licenses to run this device. Note here, I use this in my main shop. So we're really just talking about a license for me, my wife and my kids to access our internal resources and servers (Flex, iTunes, CloudStorage on Synology). For the consumer, this is a serious mistake. As a business owner and CTO, I will never allow any of these products to be installed in my businesses. NOTE to Zyxel: come up with some sort of baseline licensing that keeps your product up to date without a nickel and a dime for SSL VPN licenses. Content Guard might care less in a SOHO environment, but the inability to use a VPN at home due to unclear licensing requirements makes this an RMA. I didn't want to buy PA-210 but I don't seem to have any options from you.

Pros
  • Limited lifetime hardware, firmware updates and tech support
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
