Okay, they're just kitchen towels. They're for drying dishes, wiping stains, drying your hands - or anything you need a towel for in the kitchen. I've used bar towels for years and have never been *really* satisfied with their size, quality, or performance. These towels hit the mark in every way. When I got them I threw them in the washing machine (cold - I wash almost everything cold) and then in the dryer (regular mode) and it *might* shrink a bit, but given the size of these towels - they're HUGE - who is that interested!? It would take two or more of my old towels to make one of these "shrunken" towels. And indeed, you would only do a specialty wash for your kitchen towels - I wouldn't. So I treated her like I will treat her! you are fat almost like a canvas, but they are not rigid. All four surfaces are processed. The weave is very tight and if I were to embroider a towel this would be the towel I would want to use. The colors are pleasant and complement almost any kitchen colour. But for me that's the most important part. They are DRY. After I washed my hands, I took one and dried my hands - and they were really dry by the time I was done. If you've had poor quality towels in the past, you know how important this is. They dry dishes just as well. even wiped the water off the counter. swallowed everything. I have a small problem with these towels, the hanging loop is on the corner. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but if I hung this giant towel from a loop on a hook in my closet door, they would hang outside the door and fall on the floor. I really wish they had a loop down the middle of the side instead, but even considering that I still think I'll be giving them away for Christmas this year - who couldn't use some awesome kitchen towels. ... It's one of those simple, everyday things you just don't think about until you start. Definitely a +5 star product!
