Review on ๐Ÿš› Monroe 37077 OESpectrum Sensa-Trac Shock Absorber for Light Trucks by Dwight Tim

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money!

In my opinion these Monroe shock absorbers (front and rear in my case) represent good value for money; but have no illusions. You get what you paid for and a quality product in the end when all is said and done. I am offering this review having driven over 1500 miles with the shocks in question. I bought the shock absorbers in question for an old Nissan Hardbody 2WD OEM Suspension Truck. These Monroe shocks are perfect for the truck with no problems other than installing it in the driveway. These shocks offer decent ride quality, good suspension damping, they keep the tires in contact with the ground, and truck stability and handling are at a good level with these Monroe shocks. Well, for those who have been familiar with Monroe shocks for a long time, the shocks I am offering this review about are called the Monroe OESpectrum Shock. Also, this isn't the first time I've installed Monroe shock absorbers on this Nissan. When I first installed Monroe shocks on this Nissan, I installed a Monroe SensaTrac shock, which was noticeably better than the OESpectrum shock I installed this time. As far as I know, the SensaTrac damper is no longer offered and certainly not for the Nissan Hardbody (D21) truck. To be clear, the OESpectrum damper does NOT have the quality of the old SensaTrac damper. Instead, I would compare the quality and performance of the OESpectrum damper with the old "Monroe-matic Plus" damper from back then. Of course, today's OESpectrum damper is an improvement over the base Monroe-Matic damper, but it doesn't measure up to yesterday's SensaTrac damper. So do I recommend the Monroe OESpectrum damper for a road Nissan? OEM truck with hard suspension? You bet I do! When I started this review by saying that this is a good little damper for the money, it does have limitations, however, which shouldn't come as a surprise given the price of the damper in question. Recommend.
