It was a decent amount of yarn for the money but I didn't buy 100 different colors and the ones I got are an odd selection. Firstly I think I can have around 40-50 different shades with 2-3 skeins of different colors. For example I have 3 black, blue, olive green and 2 different shades. Also, there are a few notable exceptions, for example I didn't get either dark green or dark purple, and I had a few neon colors in my range, which was surprising given these omissions. The thread itself is fine. That's just enough for my current goal of getting lots of flowers at a relatively low price, so I can start this hobby again after many years and get some colorful embroidery projects done without spending a lot of money. For beginners or kids who need many options for friendship bracelets or whatever, this is a good and affordable choice. For the serious embroiderer, you need higher quality yarn. It frays horribly at the ends and is very difficult to thread, as the individual threads often snap when the needle hits them instead of going through the eyelet. As a result, I ended up using a much larger needle than I would have preferred. For cross stitches with a larger needle it will probably work.
