No doubt it's fast but CPU heat is ridiculous. I put this play area together for my son. Asus ROG STRIX Gaming E Z390Asus ROG STRIX 2070 OC GPUI9-9900kG. Skill 2x8GB Ripjaws V PC4-25600 CL14XPG SX8200 480GB 3D NAND NVMe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 Solid State Drive Corsair Air 540 case, with 5 Corsair low noise static pressure fans Its temperatures often match and often exceed AIO water coolers up to 280mm. However, an I9 clocked at 5GHz on all cores will overwhelm it, which likely means you'll need a 360mm AIO, or more likely dedicated circuitry, to cool this beast. In truth, the Asus motherboard was shipped from the factory such that the default overclock provided by Intel (5GHz on 2 cores, 4.7GHz on all) produced temperatures in the mid-90s Celsius, which is a lot hotter than I would have liked would have. . I hate water coolers. and I think they're overrated in general. Definitely not worth the risk. So I decided to manually maximize system performance and better control the heat. In the end, I was able to lower the voltage from Asus' default and set the core speed to gradually decrease as more cores are loaded, but still stay in an overclocked state. I then adjust the adaptive core voltage to further lower temperatures and hopefully increase CPU life. I ended up with 1 or 2 cores at 5.2GHz, 3 or 4 cores at 5.1GHz, 5 cores at 5.0GHz, 6 cores at 4.9GHz, 7 cores at 4.8GHz and 8 cores with 4.7 GHz. I'm using an AVX-4 offset. At these settings and using air cooling, it is tested at around 80°C at each core level. AVX testing at max 86°C. This leaves some leeway if the room temperature is above normal. The system is idle in the high 20°C to low 30°C. Normal games run in the mid 50°C to mid 60°C range. I used hwinfo, cinebench 15, occt and prime95 when choosing my settings. Most games often reach 5.1 GHz, but only when the game uses significantly more cores. fall. So it's fast, but it does require some manual work to keep your pace consistent. And don't forget to protect your computer from dust inside, because a fluffy blanket will most likely send it to the grave.
