I ordered this unit yesterday and received it overnight via Revain Prime (great cost saving service if you order as much from Revain as I do). I read many reviews, especially those with technical notes. To those who made it, thank you! Your efforts were not in vain. First thing I know without even reading manuals is that you should never set up a wireless device wirelessly. Easy enough to remember, but luckily it's right at the beginning of the guide. Take the time to connect with an Ethernet cable. And that goes for each individual computer (as stated in the manual). Don't be lazy and try using a wireless connection. Secondly, for those who buy this device in the future, there is a chance that it will be similar to mine with older firmware. The firmware was very easy to download and install. My device came with firmware 1.21 but 1.24 was available. Third, the full instructions on the CD show you how to get the computer to see the device when it's not showing. It only took a few minutes and the on-screen instructions and screenshots were fine. Very easy. If you plan to print over a wireless network, don't bother creating a test page while connected over Ethernet. The real test is wireless printing, and you need to complete the installation first. Here is my home configuration: Dlink Mimo Wireless Router. A desktop computer running Vista Ultimate connected with an Ethernet cable. Laptop 1: Windows XP Media Center Edition connected wirelessly. a wirelessly connected tablet computer and a wirelessly connected ASUS netbook with XP Home (this is my mother's computer so she can print from her small netbook when she is visiting). Not a single problem. But for two XP machines I had to follow the instructions in the manual to get the Universal Plug and Play services working. It was easy on both computers. There were no problems with Vista on either computer. About the printer: HP Laserjet 1100, which is not in the list of tested printers. If DLink reads this, they should add it. The reason it's not listed is probably because it's not a USB printer, it's parallel. I need a parallel USB adapter for this, not just any adapter. The mini-Centronics to 24-pin parallel cable that comes with this printer from HP made things difficult, but I found the right cable on computercablesource.com because Revain didn't have one. If you have this printer, I recommend this cable: USB-1284-PRO Product Name: USB Parallel Adapter - A/DB-25 Female Price: $18.95. No special drivers are required for network printing. UPDATE: I've added an Epson 1280 large format printer to all 4 computers above with no problems. I chose not to add my scanner because I only want to use it on my main desktop. I only found out about the ability to add a scanner from reviews on Amazon, so I didn't buy it for that reason. I just want to print wirelessly. When printing wirelessly to my Western Digital NetCenter's built-in print server, I've always found the Epson to be slow (the HP Laserjet was relatively fast). The Dlink device is much faster, like a direct connection, whether I'm printing wirelessly or not. This may be because I'm using a dedicated network printing device. Overall I am 100% satisfied that I got what I paid for.
