The performance is great if you want to restart it every day and keep tweaking it.

Bought a few months ago and slowly learning to hate it over time as I depend on this type of hardware and don't have time to constantly set it up and reboot. For a few hundred dollars I was looking for some speed and stability, but I was very wrong. At first the concept was great. Outstanding speed of inbound and outbound traffic, typically exceeding the advertised bandwidth of the provider. It starts out slow and then builds up. Then it falls off sharply. β€” Maybe you like wireless communication? Sometimes it works. Rarely. The UI is awful and the APPLY button looks like a Vegas video poker machine. Watch a movie on Roku or Apple TV?. Get ready for a flash, "commercial relaunch" or two in two hours. I thought this was crazy and checked the cable provider for any downstream outages and they said the modem was configured and working correctly. - In operation, wireless range is questionable at best, and complete dropouts are fairly common. I switched the router three or four times and the reception got a little better, but constant dropouts were the norm. Tried all the usual channel changes and professional wifi scanning from a friend for interference, but nothing notable. Something as simple as DHCP went terribly wrong with this firmware. If you have 4 or 5 dynamically assigned devices, you only need to reset them once every other day. If you have a wireless camera system or maybe a network video recorder, you're out of luck. Count on daily IP conflicts and an unstable network. - Another in the category of DHCP failures. IP redundancy. There is a limit of 16 reserved devices. That's fine if you're living in 2008, but if you have multiple dedicated devices, you're out of luck. Another thing I've noticed is that they don't adhere to DHCP lease times and are constantly conflicting with other devices. As everyone moves away from cable and satellite television, device reservation limits must be at least 10 times the allowable levels. With permanent reconfiguration, the restart time is 5 to 10 minutes depending on the cable provider. Keep this in mind every time you click the APPLY button. Would you like to add a camera? Plan this evening. For the price I am very disappointed in this product. I have never seen such a good hardware architecture with such terrible firmware and performance. I've since replaced the modem with my old one, reconfigured it to slow speeds, and let the older Apple Air Port do the wireless and DHCP facilitation. with extensive setup of wireless camera, NVR, separate video upload and network server. Remarkably, since ……………… I haven't had to reboot or encounter any IP conflicts. I would like to return this for a refund but am careful it is from a suitable window. Please look around a bit more. It's been a very disappointing six months with this device.
