Did what it had to do
As everyone says, the cables are too short. I just used jumper cables to increase the length. Engine started and oil warmed up. I first tried using one of the supplied hoses in the dipstick tube. It did not work. Poured, probably a liter. Then I went to a big store and bought some hoses and a female hose adapter. I put a new hose on the pump and hose adapter and then screwed it to the dipstick tube. Worked great! Drained all the oil in a few minutes. Certainly better than the pumps you use with a drill press.
