I enjoy doing tech reviews and now work from home. I've tried multiple docks, adapters, and hubs. Check out my YouTube channel "Ondawire" where I do all sorts of technical reviews and tell you all the pros and cons. I use a 2019 MacBook Pro and my wife uses a 2020 MacBook Pro with an M1 chip, so I tested this USB-C Hyper+Drive 10-2 Hub on both! Pros: 1. It works with both my MacBook Pro 2019 and my wife's MacBook Pro with M1 chip! It was simple plug and play.2. I tried to add lots of photos and we both love how perfectly the color matches our MacBooks.3. I use a 49" curved monitor and my wife uses a 32" monitor and when we plugged it in neither of us had any problems. and a micro SD slot. I record a lot of videos and it's great to be able to plug my cards directly into this hub. I no longer have to reach for adapters. 5. I tested the 1GB ethernet port for several days and it worked consistently at 900Mbps or better. 6. It didn't heat up at all when using. 7. I know that Apple is trying to prevent people from using all Apple products, especially newer devices with M1 chip and these hubs, adapters. , or the docking stations that Apple sells cost a fortune. This is a very good alternative at almost half the price (at the time of writing, at least) if you use another device like a PC or Chromebook but those devices must be compatible with Thunderbolt 3. I've added a picture showing how you can slide the box onto the top of the cables and when you do this you can only use one of the cables at a time. It's like buying a hub that can be used for anything. I called it a trio (Apple, PC and Chromebook). Cons: 1. It only has 60W of power (PD). My MacBook Pro uses 96W, so I've noticed that the battery drains a bit when I'm using a lot of programs like Final Cut Pro and PhotoShop and/or running other programs in the background. Nothing dramatic, but it's exhausting.2. If you are only using a second monitor this is ideal, but if you are using 2 monitors you can mirror just one and extend the other. You cannot extend 2 additional monitors when using a MacBook with an M1 chip. Overall I'm giving it 5***** stars because it works great with my 49 inch monitor and my wife and I had no issues. I highly recommend this Hyper+Drive 10-2 USB-C hub.
