However, I did get a pretty rough estimate when the pH test showed the pH was off the chart since water doesn't go much higher than 8.2 unless you use chemicals inappropriately. The ammonia and nitrite test kits worked great as in the past, preventing many potential disasters from tadpoles and crying babies. While the tadpoles were developing we kept snails, mussels, some minnows and lots of plants in the tank so the biological load was constantly changing. Even after 40 years, still great sets at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended for intended use. Scenario.
