Review on πŸ”Ž Enhanced Edelmann 70700 Power Steering System Filter by Mark Bennett

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Weak body = fracture = trash.

If you've read this review before, we have an update. This filter might be fine. I can't see it clearly. It turns out I have a problem with the return side of my pump causing it to over pressurize the system causing the filter to fail. Initial review is inaccurate: I purchased 2 of these filters as part of a repair/replacement on my power steering pump. obtained from a landfill. I spent a lot of time cleaning used parts but wanted to install an in-line filter to ensure all contaminants were removed. The plan was to replace the filter (with a second one) after a month to completely remove all contaminants from the system. A week after installation, the 1st filter broke into 2 pieces on the perimeter and all my power steering fluid spilled onto the highway. Then I realized it was either a piece of junk or couldn't withstand the pressure generated by the Saginaw pump. In any case, this is not the best product for its intended purpose. Unfortunately I realized this too late to return it, although I believe it is a defective product. Worst of all, I flooded the system with an expensive Amsoil product only to spill it on the freeway. Of course, this high-quality liquid probably saved me from burning the pump itself on the way home.
