Review on Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless headphones, black by Kenta Nakashima ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm very happy, it really is worth buying.

I managed to buy them in a well-known online hypermarket at a sudden discount for 19.6 thousand, and this at a time when the had already fallen. Before that, I chose between them, Beyerdynamic Lagoon and Dali io-6. The first ones disappeared due to weak noise reduction, not the most comfortable fit, and because of reviews about the dubious reliability of the design. The second ones disappeared due to even weaker noise reduction and a rather “flat” sound when it is turned off. A lot of laudatory has already been written about the sound, I will only summarize that the sound is generally lively and at the same time not too bright, like in buyers, and not too bassy, like in Sony. There are no special complaints about noise reduction, not the level of bose and sleepyheads, of course, but it does its job. I consider it more convenient to manage it through a toggle switch than with a button from competitors. Now more about the cons: The microphone for voice recording when connected to an android smart works more or less, but if the headphones are connected to an iPhone, the voice quality will be noticeably worse, plus noise will be heard in the speakers during recording, and after recording, the headphones will "say" that the call completed. Smart pause works well, but I don't like that if you put the headphones on for the first time after connecting, they immediately start playing music. For this reason, this feature was disabled. I hope that in the future the ability to turn off the start of playback when you first put it on will be brought into the proprietary application. I was surprised that the audio jack connector, firstly, is 2.5 mm, and secondly, it is thrust deep so that only a branded cable can be connected. Reminds me of how Apple once made a headphone input in the first iPhone (they made it so that only branded headphones could be connected). Not very fair against the background of competitors, in which the input for the audio cable is normal - 3.5mm and without any recesses. The case in the kit is soft, I'm not sure about its reliability. A strange smell emanates from the leather (leatherette?) of the ear pads and headband, which is even stronger when you remove the headphones after a long time of wearing.

Pros
  • Sound, of course Comfort Convenience of switching on and off by unfolding and folding (similar functionality was seen only in beats) Manufacturing materials Work with two devices at the same time Good noise reduction and transparency mode
Cons
  • Microphone operation in recording mode (especially when connected to iPhone) Auto play music when first put on (when smart pause is on) Proprietary audio jack input Not hard carrying case Peculiar skin odor
