Review on 💻 Dell U3818DW QHD Ultrawide Gaming Monitor with LED Lit Screen, 3840X1600P Resolution by Mauricio Gomez

Before purchasing the Dell U3818DW, I did a thorough research on curved widescreen monitors. I needed a single monitor to replace a multi-monitor setup for a DAW recording studio. I bought a new audio lectern and needed to find the widest possible monitor that would fit between the posts built into the lectern. Since all the reviews for this model were consistently positive and the size was right, I decided to spend the extra money and buy this model. So far I've been very happy with it and everything has worked perfectly in terms of workstation adjustment, monitor arm, screen resolution and compatibility with Microsoft Windows 10. All my software (Yamaha Studio Manager and ProTools 2019) have also worked great. The image sharpness, glare reduction and wide format are perfect for accommodating all these applications in a large viewing area. So it looks like I can finally say goodbye to the multi-monitor setup I've been using up until now. Other features of this monitor include a built-in speaker and a USB hub, which came in handy to connect my wired keyboard and mouse since I don't use wireless devices in my studio. The speaker is fine and works as a good output for Windows sounds and music playback when my studio monitors are off. Not the best sound quality in the world, but a handy alternative to using a separate speaker system. No extra cables or wires were required when connecting the HDMI/DisplayPort cable to the computer. Overall this is well built and engineered monitor technology and for the price it's the perfect choice for my studio application. As with anything, time will tell the longevity and longevity of the product, but for now I'm very pleased. I haven't used the Dell software to use multiple input sources, but that's something I'll likely investigate in the future. Now I don't have to download any additional software or drivers, so one less hassle.
