Review on πŸ’» Dell U3818DW QHD Ultrawide Gaming Monitor with LED Lit Screen, 3840X1600P Resolution by Chris Kotun

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Originally bought a 34-inch model of this model, but was not satisfied with the size and impact of the monitor.

Read thousands of reviews about this monitor and its competitors. Originally bought a 34-inch model of this model, but was not satisfied with the size and impact of the monitor. The 38 inch is ideal to replace a dual monitor setup. The resolution is great, the speakers aren't great, but that's not what you're buying this monitor for. I love the USB-C connectivity of the MacBook Pro and older MacBook Pros via HDMI, the split-screen capability, and the monitor that acts as a hub. Convenient menu for navigation. Sturdy large base, easy installation. The monitor wobbles slightly when pressing the menu buttons. I bought it for professional use in the office, watching movies and multitasking. I don't play it regularly, but I haven't had any major issues testing Fortnite. People always complain about glare and of course they will be pitch black especially when watching dark scenes (use OLED if you just want perfect black) but glare is not a problem and even with my obsessive compulsive disorder and technical perfection, I forget it even exists (in most cases it's not even perceptible). This monitor has excellent settings and viewing angles and rotates left and right. I've read about cable entry difficulties due to downward facing entries in some reviews and while this is a valid complaint and yes it can be tricky, it's by no means a deal breaker and offers decent cable management and flush mounting with the desired one Wall . All in all, this monitor has had intermittent use for several months and I like it. The old monitor was an Apple Cinema Display 27". This 38" is the perfect size because it gives you an ultra wide size without feeling stretched as it is larger (compared to the 34" which, believe me, makes a big difference) The only thing I would wish is for Dell to play well with Apple and understand that a large chunk of the world uses Macs and maintaining that half benefits their bottom line (eg. B. Some features can't be controlled like 3rd party volume/brightness. ) Keyboard when connected via USB-C, that can be handled with additional USB ports, but I digress.) Conclusion: A solid monitor that makes sitting/standing at a desk more comfortable and productive, definitely recommended.
