Don't we all hate adjustable hats that leave sunburn scars when flipped over! usually 7 1/4 is too tight and 7 3/8 is too loose. I ordered a large on their advice and it was very large. It had an air pocket at the top and would either push my ears out or cover them (it was a different model). so i returned it. They told me to keep it and still gave me my money back! Then I ordered this "low profile" model (small/medium) and it fit perfectly. By the way, this is a very light, rather thin material. Good thing the underside of the beak is black too
