Review on Proster LCR Meter - Multimeter Tester for Capacitance, Resistance, Inductance Measurement with LCD Display and Over-range Indicator by Draven Invert

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good price for an LCR meter but had a few issues.

I needed a multimeter with inductance and capacitance measurement capabilities as my other multimeters didn't have these capabilities. This one seemed to meet my needs at a good price. But it has several disadvantages. When I turned it on to check, the display didn't change or reset. At first I thought the meter might be faulty, but I quickly discovered that one of the probe wires had a resistance of 4-5 ohms, which prevented the meter from resetting. After replacing the sensors everything worked. I also found that the diameter hooded probes that came with the kit were not compatible with my Fluke probes as they are not interchangeable. However, standard banana lines worked well. Only one probe (red) was defective. Black had an impedance of only 0.2 ohms. Shouldn't have returned it as I have hints to use. As others have reported it has no fuses so use it carefully on unpowered circuits to take measurements. The display is large, high-contrast and adjusts to the angle. It wasn't as accurate as my Fluke for measuring resistance, but the Fluke is a calibrated and much more expensive meter. It should be enough for my occasional use. I mainly use it for L and C, so I'm overly concerned about its resistance accuracy.
