No other brass polish works as well on heavily worn and tarnished German Silver (copper/nickel alloy). If you have an unfinished brass tuba, this will make removing that pesky patina much easier, and the copper-nickel finish and outer guide tubes will shine like a mirror (or bright silver plate). As with Brasso, Weenol or any other brass polish, you should degrease the metal after polishing to avoid black stains on hands and clothing for a few days afterwards. Trichlorethylene (Solvent 111, also known as dry cleaning fluid) works best, but it's dangerous and difficult to purchase. The next best degreaser for this type of application is simply Mineral Spirit on an old t-shirt or diaper. As a last resort, you can use denatured alcohol, but you'll still get black metal over time. Degreasing also seems to keep the metal shiny longer. This polish is very popular with classic car enthusiasts and Harley owners as it also polishes chrome very well.
