Review on πŸͺŸ CRL Window Zipper Deglazing Tool: Effortlessly Remove Glazing with Precision by Matt Barsa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Did a great job with old caulk and taped windows

I had 2 old houses and used a razor to open many of the paint/sealant taped windows. This worked much better and caused less damage to the wood since you can lay the blade flat on the side of the window and swing the tool into the paint sealed crack. (also safer than using a razor blade if you need to use more force). The long handle allows you to get some leverage when pushing it into dried paint - it's also recessed so you can use a sawing motion to remove sealant and paint. I recently purchased this tool and am using it to open a window that has been stuck for decades. it still requires a lot of effort and time (1.5 hours for it) - the longer you use it, the easier it is to use, as you learn some little tricks along the way. It is best to start at the top, pull down and pump the tool into the dry paint. I am very glad that I found this tool. (I only had to use outside as it didn't get stuck indoors. If you're working indoors you'll need to work more slowly to ensure you do minimal damage to the tree).

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
