A Real Time Saver: Door Hardware and Locks

What a Time Saver. We had an incompetent house painter who painted over all of our closed windows and it took a long time to carve them out with a razor blade. Decided to try your flash deglazing tool and it was amazing; fast and does not scratch window frames. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. Really great product!

  • This is Amazing

great product for window and home restoration

I am restoring the Prarie School windows in our 1927 home and each window has many architraves. This is a great tool for cutting through old paint and gluing all the fairing pieces together - I would highly recommend this tool to anyone planning to strip and restore old fairing. It's very sharp and aggressive, so use it carefully.

Pros
  • delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Does not fit all

Wow! It works out! on hardware

I came across a suggestion for this product in a video showing how to open old painted windows. I've been trying to peel mine off for years, which are unpainted but so old that the paint used to seal the finish has run into the crevices and hardened. I've tried all the recommended tools but with little results. However, when I received this, it magically blew through the polish! So I used it on my painted kitchen window and it worked! Maybe that's exactly what you're looking for.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

the right tool for the job

I am selling windows for a wholesale company. Sometimes I need to replace or fix the glass in individual windows, this tool works great for me, I also have the "pizza cutter" tool, but I think this tool is faster and easier to use. I want to update my rating. I bought this tool a few months ago, the tool works great but it has since broken where the blade attaches to the handle. I've used it less than a dozen times. Please modify this tool to better attach the blade to the handle. The handle is

A great tool for replacing windows

I don't write many reviews - usually only when a product is way above or below my expectations. I have replaced many double glazed windows in my life. Trying to move the broken glass has always been a real problem and I ended up breaking a few and making a mess. In fact, I was about to give up and let the "man" install my latest replacement parts. Then I saw this tool -- $14 versus $225 for a professional install -- and tried again. Wow. Swapped two jars, freed one in 5 mins, the second in…

Window flash to victory!

This tool actually saved my marriage: A few months ago I painted the window frames of our sash windows in our guest room with enamel paint. It looked great! A few days later when the paint was dry I thought it would be good to open the windows to let in some fresh air but I couldn't open them. I effectively painted them over! I admitted defeat and called out to the big muscles (my husband) who, despite all their might, couldn't move the windows an inch. After a lot of skin from my palms and a…

Did a great job with old caulk and taped windows

I had 2 old houses and used a razor to open many of the paint/sealant taped windows. This worked much better and caused less damage to the wood since you can lay the blade flat on the side of the window and swing the tool into the paint sealed crack. (also safer than using a razor blade if you need to use more force). The long handle allows you to get some leverage when pushing it into dried paint - it's also recessed so you can use a sawing motion to remove sealant and paint. I recently…

Good product and almost great

After reading some reviews about this tool I hesitated to buy it but I'm glad I did. My parents' ranch-style house, built in 1979, had Anderson windows installed, which seemed to be the best at the time. After 20 years, my parents installed air conditioning in their house and those windows stopped opening and closing. 19 years and maybe 5 coats of paint later, my parents' central air conditioning failed in mid-July and my parents decided to open the windows again. Without this tool I would…
