These USB sound cards work great. Compatible with Windows XP/7/8 and OSX or Linux without driver installation. Just plug it in and it works. Ideal for testing audio issues or simply as a replacement sound card or even as a replacement. The LEDs blink during playback or recording, which is a bit annoying. You can just stick a piece of tape on it if that bothers you. However, it's nice to have a visual indication that it's working. For permanent use I would cover the LEDs, but as I said, this is handy for testing. The compatibility with different platforms is the biggest advantage for me. You never know when a sound card that runs on almost any operating system will come in handy. Definitely a nice addition to a tool bag or travel bag.
