Good value for money - high speed and long range

Having never used an EDUP product I was skeptical about the product given the low price but it didn't disappoint me. Installation experience: I installed the adapter on a Samsung laptop with Windows 8.1, but immediately there was a problem. After following the 1st step of the instructions (just insert the device), the PC encountered a problem (showing Win8.1 quasi-BSOD) due to a memory execution issue and rebooted automatically after a few seconds. After this happened 3 times I decided instead to install the software first (by running the installer from the CD that came with it) and THEN pop in the device and it worked. The last popup during the installation was due to another driver being installed, but after waiting 2 hours for it to complete I went ahead anyway (inserting the device) without closing the window or letting it go self lock and had no problems; Other settings may of course behave differently. After that everything was fine. Overall: The product worked as advertised with very good speeds close to advertised and an excellent range (on both bands, although I use the 5GHz band for less interference). It doesn't feel cheap or flimsy and so far I'm very happy with the product and haven't encountered any performance issues yet. The product also comes with a very useful piece of software, which is a standalone wireless adapter utility that shows things like signal strength, speed, networks in range, etc. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a compact dual band WiFi adapter with good speed (if AC600 is enough), very good range and a detachable antenna for less than $20. The hitch and speed did not exceed 600 Mbit / s.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
