Still really enjoyed printing semi-transparent objects with the stuff

Printed ok, but it did pop and bubble often most of the way through the spool, combined with the tendency to string and burn on the nozzle it was hard to get very clear results even with low speed and high temperature settings. Still really enjoyed printing semi-transparent objects with the stuff. Also great for thoroughly cleaning out the nozzle using the cold-pull method. It's true it helps to sort of "lay" the first layer down at a slightly higher nozzle height than normal. Sticks to the bed so well it lifted and tore one of my Coropads, also can be hard to get off of lexan sheet without damaging it with a scraper. Larger parts will pop off with flexing, but thin lines like the priming outline can be hard to chip off. I had an early print leave most of the the first layer on the bed. Use tape, glue stick, or hairspray for an intermediate adhesion layer, not to help stick, but to help with removal. Overall decent for a first experience with PETG, but will try another brand next.

Pros
  • The filament's strength makes it ideal for replacement parts and repairs
Cons
  • The filament may not have the same consistency as other brands, leading to inconsistency in printing quality
