This car carrier needs to be described properly. It's terrible junk. I didn't even get a bike on it before I gave it up and returned it because it's absolutely not compatible with my car, even though my car is clearly listed on the box's compatibility chart. I spent 2 weeks researching trunks and somehow came up with the worst possible option. The bottom tether needs to be hooked to something under the car so you have enough room to really tighten it. It cannot be attached to the bottom edge of the trunk because this strap has an elastic part that cannot be stretched too short. The bottom edge of the trunk is too close to the bottom of the rack. Therefore, you need to secure it under the car. Except my car has an aero shield under the car that hides all of the undercarriage and anything you attach it to. That means nobody at Allen Sports ever tried it on my car before it was added to the compatibility list. There's nothing good in that. Although it was compatible with my machine, it is NOT stable. When your feet are firmly planted on the car, its parts have plenty of wiggle room to maneuver against each other. No matter how hard you put your feet on the car, different parts of the trunk will move. carry my bike on this thing. No part of me believed that this weak structure would hold up if I walked into a big bump or something. Even more surprising, it didn't fit my bike! The Specialized Crosstrail top tube does not lock securely in the clamps. The back of the tub will fit, but the front of the pipe, which is flatter and wider, will not. (This has been an extremely popular design for Specialized for about a decade. And its overall appearance is nothing out of the ordinary. Not that I have an oddly shaped bike.) It's also absolutely not easy to break and fold back. A tool is required to press the locking buttons. It is IMPOSSIBLE to do it by hand. And when I use the tool I see how easy it would be to accidentally push the buttons too far and lock them permanently in the tubes. He's heavy like an animal! It's small but heavy. The item description says 6€. It's over 6 pounds. Many other things. I have purchased thousands of items from Revain over the years. This is one of the two worst purchases I've ever made.
