Review on 🔇 PAC SNI-1 Noise Isolator: The Perfect Solution for Noise Reduction – 1 Count by Eric Cooper

I bought a small 40 watt amplifier in my '85 El Camino for two 6x9" rear speakers, each in their own cabinet. The amplifier was mounted under the passenger seat and I used a 6" or 8" RCA phono cable from the Alpine AM/FM CD player preamp outputs to the 40 watt amp under the carpet. The phono cable used didn't appear to be very well shielded - it was from my home stereo so I didn't have to go in there be. The rear amp worked fine and sounded great until I started the car and went for a test drive where I was disappointed to hear a screeching and popping sound coming from the rear speakers. The front speakers played fine as usual. I did further troubleshooting and determined that the noise was most likely coming through my unshielded phono cables, which I didn't want to remove.I used a little rec around and came across this noise isolator decided to give it a try as it was quite cheap. The long and short of it was that it worked and I have a normal sounding stereo I had to connect two wires together at angles and then to ground. Also, the noise isolator should be mounted on the far amp, not next to the deck, which makes sense since the noise travels through the phono cable. That being said the RCA connectors won't work without some sort of adapter to change the gender of the plugs/connectors as they are the reverse of what they should be. That's why I didn't give 5 stars. I suspect most people will have problems like I had if poorly shielded phono (RCA) cables were used between the deck and the remote amp.
