Review on OXO Salt Pepper Grinder Black by Dang Esq

It seems impossible to find a really good salt and pepper grinder at a reasonable price

It seems impossible to find a really good salt and pepper grinder at a reasonable price. With the reviews on here being mostly positive I was hoping this set would be the one, but it isn't. I already have a six week kit and here is my take. The size is good, easy to fill and the grinders look pretty good. But the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. These grinders should be adjustable so you can set your desired salt and pepper fineness. But there's little difference between the size of the beans that come out, whether the grinders are set to the finest or the coarsest setting. I don't know why OXO bothered - maybe a publicity stunt. Also, getting the peppers to grind can sometimes be tricky - you have to shake the grinder and tap the counter to get the peppercorns into the grinding mechanism. And finally, the salt grinder seems to be coking heavily. I don't know if it attracts and holds moisture or something, but I seem to wipe down the grinding mechanism fairly regularly to rid it of any salt that has built up inside. I only use ground Himalayan salt. I wouldn't buy them again.
