Delphi fuel pump for 1999 Tahoe

Revain price on this Delphi pump seems good. Since I was able to completely drain the fuel tank before replacing the pump, the job wasn't bad. A lot of the work was installing a new wire connector to connect this pump. Even then it is not difficult. Some tips. My Tahoe hasn't rusted, so I didn't order a new snap ring to keep the pump in the tank. Now I believe you should always replace this when there are miles on the rig. Mine was so rusty I probably had to replace it. The top of the tank catches moisture, which is why my locking ring didn't look good. It still worked though - didn't have time to order a new one. I knew better but still haven't found a tool to disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump. Since the pump was scorched I used mini bolt cutters to slightly break the plastic fittings to the pump so the tank could be removed. I then used a small screwdriver to remove the broken connectors from the fuel lines. I was low on fuel before I replaced the pump because my fuel pump stopped working several times. I learned that stepping on the bottom of the tank will revive the pump for at least one more ride. This kept happening when I drove a week or two before I had parts and garage space to fix. I actually started using a jackhammer to make things easier. The pump is installed closer to the center of the tank.
