This is a great starter kit. My hands clench with simple metal hooks; but these hooks help a lot. I haven't noticed any breakage issues with the hooks and have been using them for a few months now. Stitch markers are also very useful and the bag is very cute. My only complaints are: 1) Sometimes the plastic part of the hooks is very rough very easily and gets caught in the yarn. 2) Rub the sizes printed on the hook. it turns itself off VERY easily and quickly (within a couple of weeks). I'll try to write them with a permanent marker/pen.
