I bought two of these to fit a 2004 Infiniti i35. They came with KYB racks 341341 for the rear of the car cataloged on the KYB website. I installed them and all I hear is the boot rubbing against the top of the rack. I saw another reviewer comment that these boots are not compatible with KYB Excel racks. I agree. The bottom of the boot is so small that it took a lot of effort to fit it over the top butt cap (silver part) and butt tube. KYB requires you to tie the bottom of the boot to the piston housing. It does not matter. When operating the spacer, the silver part rubs against the inside of the knurled part of the sleeve because there is not enough clearance between the sleeve and the silver cap. You can tie it or not, it doesn't matter. Since this stem is quite stiff and made of some sort of polyethylene or something like that, it will hold its shape and keep rubbing. Unfortunately when my new boots (rubber Febest) arrive I will be disassembling the machine and racks for the third time. It's time to replace them. I was now looking to purchase for an upcoming job, I would definitely not use these boots with Excel G racks. To be fair to KYB these boots may work well in other applications but not mine.
