Purchased to replace an old starter motor that no longer works on a vintage Ariens snow thrower. It was the right replacement. Installation was easy as everything fitted together. After installation, connect the power cord and press the button. The starter engaged and cranked the engine normally. Unfortunately it was one and done. After this first try, the starter failed again. no noise There is no hype. No rotation. No engagement. Nothing. Something obviously went wrong inside. Maybe it was a poorly restored unit, or maybe it's just a manufacturing accident. However, it was unusable after one use. Packed up and returned as defective. I'll probably order another one as I need it to use the snow blower.
